About This Course

This lecture presented by Dr Michael Snowden and recorded at the Dental Nurse Educators Event in Birmingham looks at mentoring in learning. The event marked the bringing together of like minded people who support dental nurses and other members of the dental team on their learning journey.

Aims

The course aims to provide learners with understanding of how to identify mentoring as a facilitator of learning and progression, and of the medium of mentoring and the strength of a mentoring framework. An overview of the benefits of modular learning is given.

Objectives

• To present the position of mentoring in the context of learning and the impact it can have on self-efficacy, professional behaviour and progression.
• To consider mentoring within modular learning as we rethink how learning is best delivered.

Learning Outcomes
