This course aims to help learners understand the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion within the workplace, providing dental professionals and employers with the knowledge and understanding needed to apply these concepts effectively.

The aim of this course is to provide dental professionals and employers with the knowledge and understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion principles within the workplace.
Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Introduce the key concepts and importance of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) within the dental practice setting.
- Explore the legal framework, including the Equality Act 2010, and its implications for dental practices.
- Provide guidance on fair recruitment processes that promote diversity and prevent discrimination.
- Explain the legal and ethical responsibilities of employers in making reasonable adjustments for staff and patients, including those with disabilities or language barriers.
- Understand the importance of addressing and reporting workplace discrimination, including guidance on whistleblowing.
- Outline the positive actions employers can take to support underrepresented groups and create a more inclusive work environment.
- Highlight the importance of fostering a culture of respect, fairness, and inclusion across all dental practice roles and patient care.
